Wedding fever

This weekend a very close family member will be getting married , so it’s celebration time. Everyone is  running around frantically for last minute outfit ‘completers’. My kids are in the wedding entourage so when Im not running around for the endless shoe drama (looking for white ballet pumps in winter!! ) , then its shoes for me , the whole outfit for hubby who doesn’t understand the fuss , shoes for son (try finding mini formal shoes for chubby feet!) , white opaque tights for daughter etc. All part of the joy for sure , only in Cape Town….love it.

I heart weddings , the day is so pure and filled with loooove and serenity and taking pictures .You cannot  escape the inevitable crying though. Cry when bride walks in with her father , cry because kids look super adorable, cry when mother of the bride cries….why  cry?… I really don’t know why we cry at weddings…

Maher Zain - Masha Allah Lyrics
The most beautiful joy is on your wedding day – that’s for sure
This night’s memories will always be present and can never fade away

The way you feel on this day
How can any of you ever forget it?!
The most beautiful life shall unite you forever

Tonight is the biggest happiness in your life
By Allah, you’re both beautiful! Allah Allah
Allah has willed it ,What a joy ,let’s congratulate them, everyone!

In accordance with our Prophet’s teachings
You did the marriage contract [‘Aqd-Nikah]
And we’re overjoyed for the two of you
And our hearts are melting with happiness on this night

Say: “Allah has willed it”
And may you live the happiest of years
Say: “Allah has willed it”
And how beautiful it is to see such a pious couple!
May Allah unite you together in Paradise
And may He make you live your whole life together in harmony

Lyrics: Mahmoud Farouk
Melody: Maher Zain & Hamza Namira

Some pretty wedding inspiration….if I could have my wedding day over…

Doodling

This weekend, we visited the Cape Town Book fair (www.capetownbookfair.com). Picked a couple of books which I’m sure I could’ve bought at one of the bookstores available in Cape Town. Least to say , it was over crowed and the kids were miserable so we had to leave early (within an hour). My children love reading (they themselves cannot read yet) but its our cuddly ,treasured time together at bedtime.
My favourite purchase for the day were -
-Oh the places you’ll go by Dr Seuss
-I came across a book called "Do you doodle" by Nikalas Catlow
Did you know doodling is a notable hobby?? I love the idea that its is unfocused , whatever, drawings. It forces imagination and creativity. These doodles may actually represent a message from your unconscious self . Here’s to me trying to analyse my childrens doodling…
"Even at their simplest, the idle jottings we repeat in the margins of our notebooks can evoke childhood memories and associations that provide clues even to our obsessions. Stars, for instance, show up all the time in the drawings of emotionally deprived children. Stars are what we wish upon. People who fill their doodles with stars may be longing for something they were deprived of, like love or affection." Dr Stephan Juan
I am star doodler!!! I draw stars …oh dear !!

love the message of this book, how great  will it be to grow up with this message in your head and heart....

Big Bang Theory...

My thoughts are lingering on hair. I once again find myself in a "should I" or "shouldn’t I" rut – always the hair dilemma – . I am totally over thinking this decision again!
I am in the mood for a new hair style. The question is choosing the style. I am feeling an affinity to fringes/bangs and long hair.Love the look but not sure it will go with my face/nose shape.Request an expert opinion you might think…secret , I don’t always agree nor heed their advice. I prefer to regret my decision after I walk out of the hair salon.
See some bangs I like….
I don't think Hannah Simone is a mum yet but is she not super gorgous! ....(did you know she is part Indian...)
